Welcome to lndcentral.com, a weblog powered by the Lotus Notes, Lotus Domino and Lotus Workplace community.
lndcentral.com aims to
- provide a community weblog like kuro5hin or Slashdot but focussed on Lotus technologies such as Lotus Notes, Lotus Domino and Lotus Workplace and other hot topics of interest to the worldwide Lotus community.
- become a 'daily read' for end-users of the technology as well as professionals implementing the products. It's usually not good leave technology geeks to themselves for too long. Input from the 'real world' can be extremely very valuable for the techies.
- supplement the very active Lotus personal blogging community by making it easier to find hot industry topics in a central place.
- provide an outlet for those who don't have the energy or creativity to build the content, the voice, the audience required to be heard. Post your story here and you will be heard.
To achieve these goals, the site uses these features typically found on community weblogs:
- News stories (aka 'blog entries') categorized into a variety of topics; check the Topics section of the menu block. Registered users can post stories which are instantly published.
- An event calendar, where users can post events relevant to the Lotus technology community. Upcoming events are displayed in a side block.
- A small but growing link collection relevant to the community. Visitors can submit links for inclusion into the database.
- Journals for those who want to see if they have the energy and discipline for a personal blog without any setup to be done. These are rather spartanic, but should be good enough to find out if blogging is for you.
- A full featured forum including optional update notifications. The forum is currently used for site announcements and feedback / suggestions and for general discussion of a broad topic spectrum.
Why you should register
Some features of this site are only available to registered users. Please check this summary page to see which parts of this site require a user registration.
I would hope that we are all grown up enough to be able to put an identity to our posts. Even if that identity is somewhat mysterious at first.
As a 'reward' for registering, the huge 'skyscraper' ad in the right column will disappear for registered users and advertisements will be toned down.
When you register, all we ask is a username and an e-mail address. Your e-mail address will never be displayed on this site and not be used for any purpose not related to the operation of this site.
